Thanks again. The trans lube hasn't been changed to my knowledge. After having it diagnosed by a transmission shop, I'm told that it needs a new transmission, to the tune of around $2000, which is out of the question. I've found a good working one that installed should be under $500. Fingers...

Apparently they've given up on the idea of side-stepping the dealer, having tried & failed with other blanks a few times. My buddy figures the only key they have is a copy to begin with, and that's part of the problem. Will advise final results asap- thanks again!

Wow! Thanks again for your response! I bought the key for friends in Alaska (I'm in Washington state) & figured there's a procedure to follow. I'm sure they have the master still- it's the only key they have, hence the urgency- they've locked themselves out of the running car accidentally twice...

Follow up: As it turns out, I believe the source of the leak to be the driver's door jamb, which was clogged with dirt & debris. I suspected the seal at the window behind the driver to be a possible source, but that turned out to not be the case. Neither did I have any evidence of water running...

I live in Washington state, which is to say my name may as well be Nemo, & a rain leak is a big problem. And the organizer was a gift/accessory the previous owner fashioned- there's not an abundance of storage space in this cab.
