I camped for a couple months in my 88 yota with a topper on back. One nice trick is to take a mountainbike innertube and partially inflate it. Wedge in between the slider window of the topper and slider window in the cab to create a wind proof seal between the two. I built a plywood and 2x4 bed...
I am not suggesting you do this as it could compromise your safety... However if one wanted to turn the light off, there is a pretty simple procedure involving a small jumper wire, the airbag fuse and a ignition key sequence. One could probably find a video of this on YouTube
Just a side note- I personally have hauled 1 ton+ up about 2500 vertical ft of elevation repeatedly in my 2000 Tacoma TRD. It's not very pretty but it can be done with care so 500 lbs over the axle shouldn't be any problem.
Well I did what was suggested elsewhere in this forum. I removed the entire driveshaft from transfer case to rear end and then drive it around in 4 hi, thus using only the front axles. The vibration disappeared... I am still having a bit of an engine issue but hoping its a bad plug or wire...
Hi I just thought I fixed a problem with the driveshaft on my 2 k Tacoma. It seemed like a bad u-joint so I've replaced the front (at transfer case) and the rear( at pumpkin) and center support bearing. The vibration didn't go away and is now worse. It starts as soon as the engine is moving in...
