Which cargo carrier do you prefer?

There are many cargo carrier options for Toyota 4Runners. For those going on vacation, they allow for more items to take along on the road trip while passengers ride in comfort. Which cargo carrier do you prefer to use?

Roof top?

Saddle bag?

I am pretty partial to roof top carriers. I have not tried the saddle bag cargo carrier.

Have you? If so, do you like them? Are they easy to use?

I prefer the cheapest one.

I prefer the first kind. I really did not know that the second one existed. To me it looks kinda funny and I wonder if it is harder to use?

My dad used to use something like the first one. I have not seen anything like the second one either.

I prefer the top one, but it does reduce your gas mileage some. This would be an advantage to using the second one as well as the ability to get to your items more easily.

I have a hitch rack that plugs into the receiver. Holds 500 pounds. I've used it for firewood, luggage, and carrying a dirt bike. Extremely versatile and sturdy.
