Pictures of progress. #1 Transmission mount complete and engine supported (final - engine set at 3 degrees down slope)
#2 Transmission mount (frame stiffening member also as 2' pipe brace removed, old trans mount) installed (old pipe location cut out ; 2 holes to the left in picture)
#3 (3) grade 8 bolts through frame to new mount w/ 2" spacer inside frame to keep distance/thickness)
#4 Turbo diesel in center of frame as far forward as possible (have Radiator with fans for spacing) & transmission output shaft centered in frame also
#5 Motor mounts installed, bolted & braced (U see right side better in pic)
#6 Ready to start on body cancer repair (minor) and re-resin the top
All the mounts are 3/8 steel plate, back up bracing of front m mount is 1/4" 3 x 4 angle. frame has been stripped & sanded ready for primer, undercoating sprayed inside frame rails and suspension parts all stripped and primed. Have to set the pinion angel & weld the rear perches to then be rey to order new drive shafts and paint the frame completely. This truck will be automatic with shifter and transfer shifter on the floor. I'll have to make a 6" or 8" Pipe bumper for the front, have 15Klb Warn Winch for front but will also have air compressor located where the air conditioning compressor is now, will use the same clutch to drive the air, storage bottle will be 12" left side in the bumper (fix tires in the field) along with spare Diesel fuel on the right. This motor is supposed to be rated at 45-47 MPG but with 430 gears & 33.10.50 tires will see. Should be starting on body by the 4th of July. Paint will be either Dark Forest Green or Camo, haven't decided yet. So far 40% labor & 60% planning, layout & fabrication. I have all layout measurements, mount details etc. if someone plans to do the same install later.
