Hey guys this is my first post ! Need your knowledge !
so the truck is a 97 tacoma 2.7l 3RZ-FE engine with 5 speed manual transmission.
i changed the cylinder head and recently and i cant get it to run again...
When i try to start it , it runs for about 2 seconds and then dies. Things i have done so far:
Checked for spark , and its all good.
When i throw in starter fluid itl run as long as i spray it in.
Fuel pressure was 20 so i changed the fuel pump and now its up just fine.
Cleaned the MAF sensor real good.
Checked the temp sensor, cam sensor etc and all seem plugged in right.
Tried on two different ECMs and no difference except that the truck runs for 3-4 seconds instead of 2 befor dieing again.
Checked all the fuses which are good.
The Cam timing is good checked it twice already.
Injectors dont seem to be pulsing, but they get the 12V power.
so the CEL is on .. bought 2 different code reader machines and none seem to be able to read my computer for some reason... the machine gets voltage and the two grounds on the plugs are fine. the other white and grey wire that reaches the ECM because i get continuity on my multimeter.
Theres a short circuit somewhere but i cant find it even when i pull out all the 7.5,10 and 15 A fuses.
i removed the catalyser and rest of exhaust so the O2 sensors are pretty much just dangling there...
Also note there was originaly an AC in the truck but it was removed years back befor i purchased the truck.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly apreciated !
