Toyota Tacoma lift kit

I'd like to lift my Tacoma a few inches so that I can take it off-road. I have a few questions:

1.) Should I go with a body lift or a suspension lift?
2.) Which brands are the best? A buddy of mine recommended the Explorer Pro Comp suspension kit.
3.) Any installation tips? I'd like to do the work myself if possible.

I'd say go with a suspension lift. And yes, I've heard good things about Explorer Pro Comp suspension kit as well. They are decent. I wouldn't really recommend installing it yourself. It's better to leave that to the professionals.

Or have someone who is a professional help you with installing it, so you at least learn and see how to do it.
