89 to 94 Deluxe trucks had either the 1.8 2Y-U, 22R/RE/R TE, 3.0 3VZ-E, 2.4 61KW, 2.8 67KW
1.8 2Y-U, 22R TE (Turbocharged version 22R), 2.4 61KW, and 2.8 67KW (61KW and 67KW were Diesels) engines were all offered in the U.S. in very limited numbers and at this time are very hard to find or find parts for.
Transmission offerings for U.S. trucks of that model/time were the 4 spd manual, 5 spd manual, A340 4spd Automatic.
In the U.S. the 2.4 2RZ-FE and 2.7 3RZ-FE engines werent put in Deluxe trucks until the 1996 model year.
2.4 2RZ-FE was the base engine for 2wd trucks and 2.7 3RZ-FE or 3.4 5VZ-FE V-6 were the upgrade engines (2wd or 4wd std cab trucks with the 3.4 5VZ-FE engine are very rare and sought after, 5 spd manual being the rarer of the two and can only be found in 96 and 97 model year trucks after 97 they were discontinued with this engine/cab combination). On 4wd trucks the 2.7 3RZ-FE was the base engine and 3.4 5VZ-FE was the upgrade.
All engines were coupled to either the A340 trans (Automatic) or a 5 speed transmission.
T-100 trucks were offered with the 2.7 3RZ-FE or 3.0 3VZ-E until 1995 when the 3.4 5VZ-FE became the optional upgrade engine, transmission offerings were A340 Automatic or 5 spd manual in 2wd or 4wd
Differences between the 2wd transmissions and the 4wd transmissions are a short tailshaft for 4wd and a long tailshaft for 2wd.
