Toyota FJ Cruiser Discontinued

Toyota unveiled the 2014 FJ Cruiser Trail Teams Ultimate Edition at a press conference held at the 2013 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show.

The commemorative final special edition FJ Cruiser is chiseled from nearly a half-century of tradition of tough, off-road performance. With only 2,500 scheduled to be built, those looking to snatch up a piece of automotive history and ingenuity will need to act quickly.

The FJ Ultimate Edition pays tribute to the iconic Land Cruiser FJ40 of the 1960s, from which the FJ Cruiser draws its rugged DNA, inspiration and design. The unique white painted front grille surround and newly developed “Heritage Blue” paint are reminiscent of the classic FJ40.

The final model year 2014 FJ Cruiser is on sale now, and the Trail Teams Ultimate Edition is scheduled to roll into dealerships in February 2014, kicking off a fond farewell to a Toyota original.

They're going to build 2500 total 2014 FJ cruisers? Or 2500 of the limited edition?

Seems too few for the last year and too many for a special edition of something that's going away.

From what my friends that work for Toyota are saying Toyota is playing real odd on the demise of the FJ line.
The FJ had decent sales numbers and was popular, no one knows why its not continuing production.
Dealer added options for FJs were a very lucrative market.
A local Toyota Dealer is getting a Trail Team Edition with Ivan Stewart driving and Marlin Cajewski riding shotgun in early January for an annual off-road jamboree.
