Reset the Maintenance Data Light (U.S.A. only)
Every 5,000 miles, the maintenance Data Light will light up as a reminder of maintenance needed. This works out well for me since I perform my own oil changes on my Tundra every 5k miles. This is how to reset the dash light in the instrument cluster straight out of the owners manual page 398 - 7.2 Maintenance section:
After the required maintenance is performed according to the maintenance schedule, please reset the maintenance data.
To reset the data, follow the procedure described below:
1. Turn the engine switch off with the trip meter “A” reading shown.
2. While pressing the “TRIP/INFO” button (→P. 88) or the “ODO/TRIP” button (→P. 89), turn the engine switch on. (Do not start engine)
>>> Vehicles without multi-information display:
3. Continue to press and hold the button until the trip meter displays “000000”.
>>> Vehicles with multi-information display:
4. Continue to press and hold the button until “RESETTING MAINTENANCE DATA” appears on the multi-information display.
