Need advice on choice of new shock absorbers on my 2004 Reg Cab 2WD

I am the second owner of a 2004 base model 2WD Tacoma with 2.4L engine. At 101,000, the truck runs and looks like new, but it may need new shocks. The truck's suspension has always been jittery (I have owned and driven it for only 22,000 miles), and I have no idea if the truck was designed this way, or if in fact the original Toyota shocks and/or spring setup were just crummy to begin with.

I usually don't haul heavy items, don't plan on adding a camper shell, etc., so I really don't think I would require heavy duty shocks. I am more interested in a smoother ride, without the jittery feeling when going over small bumps and even slightly rough road surfaces.

I haven't talked to anyone at Tire Rack yet. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Barry

I think, any suspension for your model will do. Since you have mentioned you don't have plans to load anything heavy on it. Almost everything that's being sold in the market can last as long as well taken care of.

I agree Dan. All suspensions can withstand heavy driving.. except maybe those that are made in China. I just have doubts in their quality.
