How does the cargo area rate on the Toyota FJ Cruiser?

I am a fan of a nice cargo area in my vehicles. How does the cargo area rate for this make and model?

Is it spacious and can handle a lot for a family of four?

Family of four will be fine for drives, but not for getting a lot of groceries, going antiquing, etc.

The roof racks have a history of leaking, but that might be because people overload rooftop carriers.

The FJ Cruiser offers around 28 cubic feet of space when dealing with cargo. This is behind the rear seats. If you fold them down, you will gain about 67 cubic feet of space. Just some tech info in case you are looking at different vehicle options.

I love the fact that it offers so much cargo room. It is perfect for hauling bikes. I often go riding with my kids.

From the outside it looks smaller than it actually is. Here are some pics. It's actually pretty roomy inside.
