Catalytic converter theft

Anyone noticing catalytic converter theft occurring in your city these days?

nope can't say i have and who in the right mind would want to steal cats anyways. for one reason they aint worth much for scrap metal and plus it would be to much work to take them off

Not as difficult as you might think. With a 18 or 24volt sawzall you can be in and out with a cat in well under 5 minutes.
Plus some of the stolen cats are sold with the intention of getting a car/truck inspected without spending a lot on new parts.

Not just for the scrap anymore, but some of the older ones do have a higher content of platinum in them, when refined brings in a few pennies.
