86 Taillight Issue

Redoing wiring on my taillights and they are more like trailer lights as I have a utility bed on my truck. Was told there is a box on the truck that will stop the lights from backfeeding to the front. Anyone heard of this and know what it looks like?

Haven't heard of that, and not sure what it means. Most old Toyota lights are wired with two wires, one positive and one ground. As long as the wires are still good, the lights oughta work.
