You can gain more than 13 horsepower with a K&N Performance Air Intake for example. I did do so myself and you really can feel the increase. Also change your spark plugs to some with a higher heat range rating.
It could be a issue with the timing, but you will only know for sure one you reset the timing belt again. Also it is very possible that the head got damaged during the timing belt failure, just try to have your timing re-set again and if it still does not work- well, that it would need a new head.
I guess since you fixed the tranny that problem will not appear again. Use a weight distribution hitch, prodigy brake controller, a sway bar, and always drive in tow mode. There is no design problem in regards to towing with a Tundra.
Same here, I would recommend after-marked parts from Toyota and maybe even a good service center to do the up-grade. It is crucial to have the lift done perfectly because doing it wrong will greatly affect the handling of your truck and might compromise safety on the road.
Here is a link to a site that will give you a step by step guide to remove the bed from your pick-up...http://pickuptruckbeds.net/how-to-remove-and-install-a-truck-bed/
Toyota after-market parts can be found at every Toyota Service center.
I am sure Toyota is NOT a bad investment, I had several models and I always have fun driving one. My Brother drives a new Tundra now and think its an over-all good Package.
EBC Green Stuff are good brakes that work very well on a Tacoma. Actually there are lots of good performance brakes on the market, Brembo is a other brand I could recommend.
There is no known problem by up-grating from 15 inch to 16 inch weels on your Tacoma. My brother has a Tacoma and he runs 16 incher on them since he got his track.
You can check the servo and the power steering oil, maybe the problem is that its low on oil and it makes squeaking noises because of friction. I had a problem with that on my old land cruiser.
Well, it could be a problem with a casket and it could smoke only at high torque like when on higher speed. Have your valves, rings and clearances checked and lets hope it will fix the problem.
Added comment (lol I sure am talkative) When I drive between 50 to 70 mph on certain roads, it does bounce quite a lot. It actually feels as if someone is jumping up and down the back of my truck. I've owned 3 Tundra's already and the latest I have now is the fully-blown double cab 4x4 2007. And...
I agree, the bed bounce is inherent in all pick-up trucks. As for the cause, it could be a loose bolt that mounts the bed to the actual frame. This is the problem I had with my former truck. Just check if it's wound down tight. Other cause could be that it's simply too light. Trucks are designed...
It's not a question of how true the bounce is. ALL trucks have bed bounce. An empty truck bed makes up about two thirds of the vehicle. Driving it on the road with an empty bed would definitely have the back of the truck popping from the lightness. Try putting a sandbag on the bed. 200 pounds of...
A/C Compressor failed at 38000. I have a 2005 Tacoma. I haven't found a good deal on the A/C yet. And right now it's totally busted. So I solve my A/C by rolling all my windows down and drive at 50 kmph. And yeah, the rust is horrible on my truck, but I love it despite that. It is a very...
2005 Toyota Tacoma with failed A/C compressor. My AC compressor failed. I went to the dealer and they're charging me 2grand for it. I'm passed the warranty, by the way, and this really sucks. I really love this truck apart from the faulty compressor. But there's totally no way I'm paying that...
