I'm partial to the 1983 Corrolla Hatchback.
My mother in-law sold my wife hers in 1987, a few months before we were married, we took the car all over the world with us while I was in the military, until 2000 when it was totaled while we were stationed in Spain, over 299K miles on the car and the only non-wear items I ever replaced were the wheels, steering wheel, and stereo to dress it up, the glass moon roof after my daughter lobbed a baseball through it, and the drivers seat frame after about 200K hard miles.
We originally paid $3600 for it with 37,000 miles and it was worth every penny.
