Toyota changes the start-stop button in newer vehicles

Toyota recently changed the start-stop button in their newer vehicles so that if pressed 3 times in quick succession, the engine will cut off. Older models required a three-second push to shut off the engine, which could be more difficult in a panic situation, such as if the accelerator sticks.

That's a good change. Yes, when you're panicking, pushing the button for three seconds could be a problem. When you're in panic, you don't have much patience and your instinct is to do something fast. So pressing the button 3 times is better.
