I have a friend who just bought a new Sienna and she wants to know if rust proofing the Toyota actually is worth the money? Does it actually help to keep the vehicle rust proof?

It can help, but moreso only in certain locations like very cold/snowy climates. Otherwise, the car should be find on its own and she should just wash the undercarriage monthly. Mudflaps can help too.

No matter where you are in the world, just washing a vehicle on a regular basis will help to prevent rust and corrosion. The nature of modern paint and clear-coating has just about done away with the need for most of the old fashioned waxes and we just don't see rust and corrosion like we did even back in the 90's.

When I was still in working in the dealership we have this client done his rust proof, but after a few months his car frame started to rust, When we ask were his house located, around 10miles from the beach, but he had his resort business located in front of the beach and always parts his vehicle their..

So we conclude that when you are located near in beach areas your vehicle is prone to rust...
