Will a 2004 Toyota Highlander Starter fits on a 2003?

My best friend need a new highlander starter so I bought an aftermarket starter replacement.

But he told me what he need is a 2003 toyota highlander starter while this starter is for 04 or more.

I don't know much about toyota cars- diferent year car may need different starters ?

Will a 2004 Toyota Highlander Starter fits on a 2003 Toyota Highlander?
If not,now this seller has shipped this starter to me,I will consider return it.
Ideas/insight would be WONDERFUL!

Welcome to TCC. I did a quick search on RockAuto site and they list two different #'s for starters for both years. This would lead me to believe that they may be different. Someone a bit more knowledgeable on this issue will be along shortly to help answer your question.

Type the VIN in on either system and it will match to the correct engine.
