Oh man, I can't tell you how much I HATE Texas toll road companies. They truly suck. I sold my 1987 pickup to a Texan from Austin in Nov, 2018 who begged me to leave my Colorado plates on the truck so he could drive it back to Texas without getting stopped for no plates. Like an idiot, I agreed. What a fool. He drove the truck on MY plates until they expired in May, 2019. Naturally, I got hit with all the toll road fees he accumulated. Totalled over $75, and I had to pay all that no matter that I sent them reams of paperwork proving that I had sold the truck. Lesson Learned for me is to NEVER leave plates on a vehicle I sell private party (in Colorado, the plates belong to the owner, not the vehicle [like California and other states]).
