Yeah, that's crazy expensive for a 4 mph toy. Honestly, my 7 year old is just about too big for it.

Last winter there was a booth at Trader Village selling off road carts with seating for 2 at around $750, yea I know more than your looking at, but they were big enough to have room to grow into.

Is your lawnmower engine a side shaft or bottom shaft?
need a bottom shaft for this unless you have a gear box to run through.

It's a bottom shaft, I've never mated a lawnmower engine to anything so I'll have some research to do.

it can be done, just requires more engineering which will make it not as economical.
