How long does it take to build a house?

I am curious about this because the lot next door sold and they are building a home there. It is quite noisy. I am hoping it is done by June so I can enjoy a quiet summer. Anyone know? They are just now digging ground and doing piping.

It depends on the size and style. I think an average home takes 3 to 4 months. The should stuff should be done in 2 months tops though.

My parents had their house built a few years back... after I moved out of course! I sleep there still from time to time just because they have an inlaw suite. Anyways, it took their contractors 5 months total.

I suspect the average is about 4 months. On the other hand, it only takes about 3 weeks for a McDonalds to be built, it appears.
