ESP CrewMax under seat storage bins for Tundra

One thing I dislike about our 2019 Tundra is the lack of storage space (our Land Cruiser was worse) in the cabin. I found this ESP plastic bin thingy online a few months ago and have been pondering the idea of installing one ever since. A local advertised one on CL yesterday--brand new, still in the box--for $100. Since I've never seen one advertised for less than $190.00 + shipping, I grabbed it quick.

I installed it this morning and it took less than 2 hours. Now I have room for some of the stuff that has been on the floor behind the driver's seat. Very easy install, just a bit time consuming. Great DIY project. Here's a link to a YouTube video on installing one:

If you do one, don't forget to use the jute insulation under the bins, and the carpet pieces inside the bins as the guy in the video did--some trimming of the carpet pieces required.

Wow, the after for this is pretty impressive. I also feel the pain from not enough storage.

I filled up the 3 bins this afternoon. They swallowed up an amazing amount of stuff. Some stuff (like a First Aid kit) was in our 4x4 box in the bed, and we frequently remove the box when more room in the bed is needed. Now I have a bunch of stuff in the cab that I might need when the box is not in the bed. I really like these bins, and am very pleased with the result. Good product and easy-to-install.

Yeah, I know! I instantly called the guy, told him I would take it, and then drove across the valley to get the thing. Well worth the trip.

I'm not sure how comfortable I would be with cutting into the back carpet and styrofoam too. Measure twice, cut once I guess.

Cutting was NOT a problem. There's a great cutting template printed on the box. Cut out the template and mark the carpet with chalk, then cut away. Easy-peasy. Stay focused, don't get careless. I taped the template in place so it wouldn't shift/move while I was marking the carpet.

I did not have (nor did my neighbors) a carpet/linoleum knife like the guy in the video used to cut the foam. One neighbor had a Sawsall blade in a hand-held handle thing--it worked fine on the foam, but was a bit messy. Don't forget that the bins will cover up any mistakes. Really an easy and worthwhile mod. I'd do it again in a heartbeat.
