Door Panels Armrests

I want to fix the door panels armrest on my 08 highlander. What is the best way to remove that section and fix the plastic base? The plastic under the leather covers are broken possibly because the previous owner put too much weight on it and broke it. Or, could've been from the idiots at the dealer when they upholstered the panels. It's not the hooks that hold the part but the plastic under the armrest itself as you see circled in red on the picture attached.

This gives you some indication for how it's hooked to the door, photo callout #7.

I'm sure that it's stitched or glued from underneath and the whole armrest comes off.

either way, you could get a good glue mixture that would adhere them together when you add in foam or whatever you put in there to provide additional support.
