Carburetor Help - '79 Engine in '74FJ

Hi,

I am hoping you can help me. I bought a '74 FJ, that according to the stamp on the side of the engine, has a '79 2F engine. The emissions control system has been removed, and the exhaust manifold replaced with headers.

The carburetor on the truck is has manual choke, is a GM 2 Jet Rochester. There is no ID tag on it. The only marking is a stamping on the outside of the bowl, - 700-8597.

At a minimum I need a re-build kit, but I would also like to look at replacing it. Could anyone help me with a possible recommendation and source for either option ?

thanks !

2 jet, do you mean 2 barrel carburator? We really need more information. I am not a Toyota mechanic. This is a member supported forum. So, what is a 2F engine. 4 cylinder, 6 cylinder, 8 cylinder ? What size is it. A pic of the carb would also help. Places like Summit Racing, and Jegs do sale carburetors. You may even be able to find a rebuild kit there.
