93 Toyota V6 Dome Light

Pre-Electrical

The Dome light in my truck would go through about 2 light bulbs a year. Now I can't get any thing out of it.

I've searched the fuse, checked with a voltmeter... nothing.

Where is the common break? is there a common fix?

I would suspect you have a faulty ground somewhere in the circuit, it possibly was corroded before but now the corrosion has eaten all the way through.

Ha, I found the issue... I was testing again with a voltmeter and got the light to flicker. After some investigation I noticed that when I touched the prod to the metal piece holding the light, and simultaneously touched the post that was supposed to connect that plate to the circuit, I caused the light to come on.

I don't have a soldering iron, so in the meantime I took a nail set and lightly pinched the post flange to the plate. Works like a charm!
