My brother's 1991 Toyota SR5 occasionally will not start after a 20-30 minute drive-let cool and it will start (any ideas? Also seems to have low performance on highway-at 55-60mph, it takes a while to get up to 70 or higher-no kick into passing gear. Vehicle has 57,000 miles and is in mint condition. It sat for 1-2 years without running. Recently had new timing belt, pulley, water pump, plugs, wires.... I wan to sell but need to address these issues first.

Fuel filter or carb varnish would be my first guess. The crank sensor could be bad also. Which engine / trans and does it have VVT? Have you checked the timing and the advance? Does it throw any codes?
