I am planning on installing a trailer receiver on my 2015 Highlander.
The etrailer model that is supposed to fit is a Curt/etrailer #e98844.
The installation instructions indicate that (3) undercarriage guards/splash covers, etc have to be trimmed to allow the installation. This includes (2) lower bumper plastic flaps that secure it to frame that have to be completely cut off, an air deflector above tail pipe that also has to be cut off, and the large lower left guard. i am sure Toyota wouldnt have put these on if they didnt find them necessary.
Wondering if any has thoughts on modify these parts and any impact on future rust, or other issues related to these mods.
