1987 Toyota Pickup brake light stuck on

I recently disconnected/reconnected my battery and now the e-brake light on the dash seems to be stuck on. I can't figure out how to get it to turn off. Any ideas on what could be going on here?

I just had to top off the brake fluid, then the problem went away.

Topping off the brake fluid wouldn't have been my first guess. It's a good thing people who are mechanically inclined than I am are on this forum.

Me too, I would never have thought that brake fluids would have something to do with brake lights? And it all started with battery disconnection!
