85 22r auto.......Won't shift cold. Takes a block or longer to warm up, before shifting correctly. Anyone else run across this? I'm a seasoned Toyota owner and have a 78 I've owned for 25 yrs. (500k). This 85 was given to me, after installing a new head. (sat 3 yrs). I replaced the cam with a...
If your not having issues......then hardcore cleaners...like seafoam aren't really necessary. Once a yr....to clean out water from condensation..I use heat....its a mild cleaner too.
Its not likely a carb. issue.....I find that if it didn't have a problem to begin with...its not likely going to start one up...such as float issues or clogged jets. Likely, you took on water and it trapped some in the carb/filters...Condensation or bad fuel can really pollute your fuel filters...
Plug wires can be going bad too.....they can look good, but be drying out and cracking...or they just wear out in time and don't work. This is usually 90% rough idling issue. Check your air cleaner too...they clog up. One more thing.....use some seafoam fuel system cleaner.....I'm thinking your...

Definitely a rebore to the next oversize, and a complete regrind of the crank. This way there's no second guessing oil pressure/compression values with the (looks good) scenario. These values make all the difference for longevity. Also when your breaking it in...don't go balls out...but run it...
Lots of folks on here can give you good advice for that. I suggest doing thorough research before making the jump though, as my own misfortune has cost me considerable time and money. I have a 85 22r, that had been given me. It had a failed head gasket and had sat for 3 yrs.....1 yr after her...
That's a screaming deal on the tires. A 31" tire, alone, is 150. Considering where your at too, 1400 for the engine is a great value. If you had the 3.0 v6, it would have been more, just for the engine, not including taxes or shipping. Your choice of an engine paid a dividend there and you proly...
