It looks like they are! As usual Toyota is looking after their customers. I believe that they should double-down on their suppliers to improve quality on-par with the Toyota reputation...

Tiderunner, I had a similar issue years ago with my 2000 Taco and had the heads rebuilt at about 350,000kms, close to your current mileage. The bottom end wasn't touched and I eventually sold the truck and the last I heard it had over 700,000kms and still going... The truck ran on 10W40 Amsoil...
I'm looking to buy my first Tacoma! I'm wondering if a 4 cylinder truck has sufficient power. I'm not going to be towing anything or hauling anything heavy - I just want to get up a hill with plenty of speed. I like the better gas mileage of a 4 cylinder but I don't want to sacrifice too much...
