Would You Buy A Toyota With A Reconstructed Title?

Thank you for that information. I was always curious about cars with reconstructed titles, but I wasn't sure how to figure out why they were reclassified. I thought the same thing- that many owners may not be 100% honest as to why the car was reclassified. It's nice to know there are other...

Tips For Carrying Big Game Meat In A Tacoma Truck Bed

Unfortunately not of the meat in the truck bed. It was dark and we were in a rush. Traditionally it's not 'safe' to butcher a moose at night in Alaska, because you can't see well and bears are pretty notorious for searching out a butchered hunt. So we were in a rush to get it home and hung up. I...

Why Did You Choose A 4runner?

Why did you buy your 4Runner? For me, it was the fact that I didn't really need a 'truck bed', but I wanted a lot of space in the back. I wanted something that was comfortable to drive, would hold its value, and had a reputation for being a reliable vehicle. I, honestly, wasn't the biggest fan...

Tips For Carrying Big Game Meat In A Tacoma Truck Bed

I just made a post a week or two ago about prepping a Tacoma for a big game hunt, and now that we've actually completed the task, I thought I'd share a few tips with you guys. This is for a mid-sized truck, but I suppose these could be used for anyone. We started by lining the entire bottom of...

    Dawn From Alaska

Hey guys! I'm Dawn from Alaska, just wanted to make a quick post here. Hoping to find other Toyota lovers from the northern most state of the US. I drive a 4Runner and my boyfriend has a Tacoma (probably two of the most popular Toyotas in Alaska aside from the Tundra). We live in Anchorage, but...

Prepping A Tacoma For Big Game Hunting

We went out last Friday and got a moose within just a couple hours! The weather was fantastic- about 40 degrees F and dry outside, so the meat held up really well for the trip. It was a tiny forked bull- so the meat will be really good, and it was easy to pack. It barely took up even a portion...

    Speaking Of Scratches...

We tried it and unfortunately it didn't work. It made the car look shiney and clean- but it definitely didn't buff out scratches. She has a red car, though- and he did do this on black paint. Maybe the paint color makes a difference? Needless to say, it didn't work for us. *sad face.

Rocks Keep Cracking My 4runner Windshield In The Winter!

Love the guard- that's really interesting. Is it legal to drive with that installed? It looks like something that would raise a red flag on the highway, but definitely something that could help. Most of the rocks that have hit and cracked my windshield tend to be a little bigger (Alaskan roads...

What Insurance Company Do You Use?

At the moment, I'm with State Farm, but I'm looking around. They've treated me well, but their rates are pretty high for me, for some reason. I've never had a traffic ticket, never been in an accident, and never given them a reason to give me a higher rate. I'd like to look around and see what...

Rocks Keep Cracking My 4runner Windshield In The Winter!

Every winter, it never fails, a rock will fly up- smack into my windshield, and leave a huge crack. I know this is really common in Alaska, because the well below freezing weather contrasting with the heated inside of the vehicle makes the glass more fragile. It seems like everyone I know has...

Prepping A Tacoma For Big Game Hunting

Well, we leave on our trip tonight! Wish us luck. We plan on hunting tonight and then tomorrow morning. Should be fun. It's pretty rainy and the daylight is at about an even 12 hours right now, so the hunting should (hopefully) not be too hard. If we don't get anything this weekend, we're out of...

Would You Buy A Toyota With A Reconstructed Title?

When buying a vehicle with a reconstructed title from an independent seller how do you figure out why it was classified? Also, isn't a huge part of the reconstructed title process having the vehicle inspected to make sure it's road worthy? If there was significant damage from a flood or crash-...

How High Is Too High For A Tacoma Lift Kit?

Thanks for the input, that was really enlightening actually. Honestly, I'm not a fan of lift kits- the appearance of them just doesn't appeal to me. But I find it really interesting that there are certain ways you can make a higher lift kit safer.
