According to the sales numbers (posted here: 2016 Toyota Truck & Suv Sales + Crossovers & Minivans), the Sequoia isn't selling all that hot in the US. Are they going to try to redo it and make it smaller and more fuel efficient?

I mean, in Jan/Feb/Mar of this year Toyota sold 76122 RAV4s. In the same time they only sold 3005 Sequoias. That means that the Sequoia has sold less than 4% as well as the RAV4.

MODEL 2016 2015
RAV4 76,122 64,010
TACOMA 44,576 39,666
HIGHLANDER 38,673 35,362
SIENNA 34,529 32,723
4RUNNER 25,571 22,013
TUNDRA 25,535 28,757
SEQUOIA 3,005 2,811
LAND CRUISER 768 683
VENZA 415 6,781
FJ CRUISER 1 195

Oh! Not only that, just saw this at the end of the Wikipedia article. Looks like Toyota was going to kill the Sequoia, but then changed their mind and the project is still in limbo. ?????

In 2010, Toyota announced its intent on ending production on the Sequoia after the 2014 model year due to declining sales and replace it with a next-generation Land Cruiser,[20] but in 2012 announced that the Sequoia will be redesigned along with the Toyota Tundra for the 2014 model year and will continue with a truck-based body. As of September 2015, Toyota continued to offer the Sequoia for the 2015 and 2016 model years using the same second generation design.[21]

That's an interesting question and even more interesting follow up point. The squids Sequoia has some pretty low sales numbers. At this rate they might sell 14000 units for 2016 ... If gas prices stay low, that's going to help.
