Throttle question - 2014 Tacoma

I recently bought a 2014 Toyota Tacoma Access Cab TRD V6 6speed manual. My previous truck was 2005 Colorado I bought new.

I notice the throttle seems very light. The rpm seems to take a long time to drop when shifting up, and when shifting down revs up quickly and quite a bit with little pressure on the pedal.

Is this the way things are now with electronic throttle linkages, or something that can be fixed?

I have the 5spd auto and my throttle works pretty much like my other car (2013 Mustang GT).
What you describe sounds like a faulty throttle position sensor.
I'd be in the service department for a fix....

I think it would be less a problem with automatic transmission, the slop in the slushbox would accommodate the throttle slack. Stick shift would jerk more.

The throttle in my 2014 seems a bit sluggish. Of course it's my first truck and it weighs a whole lot more than my wife's Chrysler 200 or the Electraglide that preceded it.
