So you want to build an overland

I am new to everything and am looking for some advice.

I really love trails and want to go everywhere. My husband and I want to enjoy the view and do some fishing. What is the best overland vehicle?

What will I encounter in California? I will be adding things like a RTT on a bed rack and doing things like the dif breather mod... but if it was your truck and you were going out for a week or even a long weekend... What would you want to have on the truck or with you?

Best overland vehicle? Easy a Unimog com van converted to a camper.
California varies from rockie trails, fire roads, desert trails to beach's.
My truck? Id want a good set of tools, 2 spare tires, and all the other items you pack for a normal off road trip.
