Auto Head Lights Wont Go Out

I have owned my 2008 Toyota Tundra since new in 2008. Recently, after headlights did not go out, that issue drained my battery. I have checked the headlight knob position and it is in the auto lamps position. All my doors are closed.
Any ideas. Thanks a load.

I don't have an exact answer but here are a few things that can cause this:

What Can Cause Headlights to Stay On?
Some of the issues that can cause car headlights not to turn off include problems with a:

  • Headlight switch
  • Multifunction switch
  • Daytime running light module
  • Light sensor
  • Relay

Check the relay first, a failure on the relay would be my first guess for the circuit being stuck open, thus draining your battery pretty quickly.
