    Default 92 Toyota Fuel Gauge

    i have a 92 4wd pickup. the gas gauge quit working. does anyone have any suggestions on possible repairs or causes.

    Could be the gaugue or the sending unit in the tank.

    Ya, most likely the sending unit. If the top of it or the connection is rusty that would cuase some issues. Dropping the tank is quite the task, but straigforward. If you do it, might as well inspect all the other connections and brakets etc...

    Acquired in May 07 , spent ~ $4400 on repairs so far:

    Paint job, parking brake cable, rad re-core, new tire winch, brake lines, fuel line, Bremo rotors, Toyota pads, new calipers (in this order), all new exhaust excluding headers

    1992 4Runner 4x4 3.0L Auto
    Project Truck... the deeper money pit.
    Update Nov. 19: Fully road worthy. New Tires Coming Soon.
