for one reason why to get a 4.7 its cheaper in cost wise than the 5.7 and some people don't want the big v8

the 4.7L is truly a waste of money. I guess one could justify it if all they couldn't qualify for credit to get the 5.7L but in my opinion they should go home and save up more money until they did qualify. The 5.7 just makes so much more sense.

    What about torque for towing?

I would imagine that those people that the 4.7l would appeal to are those that need it for a specific reason such as towing. If you are needing it to tow a boat, horse trailer, RV, etc - you want that extra torque

I need towing torque, so I'd get the 4.7l
