Default What Was Your First Truck? First Car? First Toyota?

I thought it would be a good idea to see what people have to say about their first vehicle, truck, car, toyota or other.

My first CAR was a 1983 Toyota Celica. That thing ran FOREVER! Got me through high school and college and I never had any worries. Ended up turning 200k miles while I was a senion in college and I never had any major work done on it!

Once I graduated and got a job, my first big purchase was a new Toyota Tacoma truck! Still love thinking about the day that I drove off the lot in that truck and all of the good times we had it in going camping up in the mountains, going skiing in the winter and boating in the summer.

GOOD TIMES! Who else? What was your first Car? Truck? Toyota?

I've never met a mud pit that I didn't like, or that my Toyota Tacoma couldn't get through!

My first car was an '83 Sunbird... it was a pos. My dad bought it from a friend with a cracked head and the guy didn't tell us. It ran about 3 months, and when it blew up on me on the side of the highway, I got in trouble for "not taking care of it". Then, the mechanic told my dad that I had taken care of it, oil was good, all fluids were good, and I had even changed out two hoses (on my own, thank you very much) that were in need of repair.

First truck was a '93 T100 - which I've found out on this forum is NOT a popular truck although I absolutely LOVED mine. It was also my first Toyota. We took that thing everywhere! Lake, 4X4ing, camping, fishing, hunting, just plowing through fields of snow or dirt.... had a 6 inch body lift and huge tires, which didn't affect the gas mileage as bad as we would have thought. Traded it in on an '01 T100, which the ex got in a divorce... boo. At the time I also had a '99 Camry, which I really loved as well. I love driving that thing, it rode SO nice and got excellent gas mileage.

My first car was a 1968 Dodge Dart GTS Hurst Special Edition, what a POS.
Drivers door didnt open, trunk opened with a screwdriver, hood wouldnt stay closed, the clutch was worn, didnt have reverse (found out later it did you just couldnt go in reverse because of the worn clutch), any trip over a few miles required stopping to put water in the radiator, couldnt fill the fuel tank because it had 3 bullet holes near the top.
But she had an awesume 440 Magnum engine with a 4spd manual, and despite all the other flaws her paint still looked like it came from the factory, Jet black with a shiny red tail stripe and the power bulge hood.
My neighbor had her in his backyard for 4 years before selling her to me, I suspect he was hiding her because he was involved in something shady with the car but I wasnt smart enough to figure that out back then, I paid $400, she had 3 flats, a bad battery, bad starter, and a bad fuel pump. It took every penny I had to get her back on the road.
In 1981 I got in a little trouble myself and the car was parked at my brothers house while I got things right then joined the military, in the mid 90's my brother asked me what I was gonna do with her, since I was living in Italy I gave him the car and he started to restore it but in the middle of a full restoration found out there was big issues with the title so he bought a 1970 Dodge Dart and used the parts to build a clone GTS.

my first car was an '81 jeep that my dad bought new. when i got my license, he gave it to me as a present because i had always loved it and helped him work on it. i gave it backto him when i bought a newer jeep a few years later. he still has old blue. it had these really loud cherry bombs on it that woke all the neighbors up every morning. i miss it sometimes.

my first toyota is the one i got about a year ago. it's an 09 toyota tacoma. i love it and can't imagine how i ever got along without one. i've made a few mods to it for the 4x4 areas we all hit so i won't tear it up. it is my baby

My first Toyota was a 1986 Celica. She was so reliable that I'm convinced that even a zombie apocalypse wouldn't slow her down. Her name was Sasha (my dad named her, Mom did not approve lol), and I remember going to the beach all the time in that car with my Dad and Brother. Good times.

Mine was a 1994 jeep wrangler. we lived in south east alaska and it had a cloth top. my parents gave it to me in 2000 when i turned 16 because they hated driving it. so it sat and sat, because i hated driving it too, not to mention the chunks of mold growing in it. i begged and begged to trade it in and they were mad saying that any child should feel lucky and that it was soo 'cool. i finally saved up the money to trade it in and buy another car and that freaking jeep sat on the lot for over a year before they shipped it out of state because it wouldn't sell. i think i might have mentioned I TOLD YOU SO to my folks after that. not only did i not want the jeep, the entire town hated it.

My first car was an '83 honda civic hatchback. Kids in high school used to make fun of it, but I loved the thing anyway. I finally blew the transmission at 300k miles or so and it just wasn't worth replacing, so I bought a '98 Chevy S10 pickup, which is the worst vehicle I've ever owned. Seemed like something would go wrong with it every 5k miles or so, parts kept breaking off on the interior, etc. Horrible truck really.

My first Toyota was an '87 4x4 pickup and I still have it. It has 230k miles but I know it will go a lot farther, and when the engine dies I'll just get another one and throw it in. I love that truck.
