    Valve Clearance

I am using feeler gauges to measure the clearance. It's the only tool that you can get in there to measure it. I see no other way to do it. As far as the clearance getting tighter, I've been told that this happens from wear on the valve seat and face. Back in the day when I was hot rodding, and...

How To Repair ~ 1991 Toyota Pickup Tps / Sensor

Working on a 1991 Toyota pickup, 3L V6, automatic and about 160K miles on it. Need to change a bad TPS and came across this problem. It seems that one of the wires on the connector to the TPS sensor has come loose from the plastic part. Tried to spread the little ears on the metal part, didn't...

    Valve Clearance

Working on a 1991 Toyota pickup 3L V6, automatic. Vehicle has about 160k on it. Valve cover gaskets were leaking, so I decided to change them. While I was there, went ahead and checked the valve clearances. All were in spec but 2. One intake valve was on the low side of the tolerance (.007...

    What Is This???

I'm working on a 1991 Toyota pickup, 3L V-6, automatic. About 160K miles on it. Needed to do some much needed maintenance, like fix the leaking power steering pump, replace a bad TPS and change the leaking valve cover gaskets. So I removed the upper plenum and throttle body assembly. Went ahead...

    No power 1991 Toyota pickup, 3L V-6

Here's an update. I've changed plugs, cap, rotor, O2 sensor, and I also did a compression check. The compression check showed about 125psi in all cylinders +/- 3-5lbs between all 6 cylinders. Still NO power. Still no CEL. However it seems that when I am driving and need more speed, it will...

    No power 1991 Toyota pickup, 3L V-6

Will try to check compression after doing the fuel pressure test. Head gaskets were done some time ago. Can my problem be caused by a bad O2 sensor? As far as I know, the O2 sensor has never been changed. From the research I've been doing, that was one of the things that could be the issue...

    No power 1991 Toyota pickup, 3L V-6

It seems or appears to have a small miss at idle. But it has NO power at all. It is still drivable, but if trying to enter the freeway, it takes a while to get up to speed. I can mash the gas pedal to the floor and it really doesn't do anything.

    No power 1991 Toyota pickup, 3L V-6

I have a 1991 Toyota pickup, 3L V-6, about 150,000 on present odometer. Might have another 30-50k on top of that.( Dad was previous owner and had to replace odometer). Had a problem with idle on cold starts. But now it seems that it doesn't have any power. After motor is warm I can floor the...

    Issues when cold

I have a 1991 Toyota DLX pickup w 3L V-6. In the morning when I start the truck it will hardly idle. Idles REALLY slowly and seems it might also be missing. But if I give it a little gas it seems fine. Doesn't have this issue after it gets warm. Not a big FI person. Know a little, but not a lot...

Brake rotor to hub torques specs

Yeah, I found that too. But is strikes me as odd that the torques plate (caliper bracket) is tighter than the rotor to the hub.

Brake rotor to hub torques specs

They are aftermarket, to OEM specs. The rotors are supposed to be a premium, preferred rotor. The rest of the braking system is stock. This vehicle is used for day to day use, like driving to work and such. No high performance use at all!

Brake rotor to hub torques specs

Need to change rotors on my 1991 Toyota DLX Ext Cab V-6 2WD pick up. Anyone know what the torque spec is for the rotors to the hub?? Or just hit it with an impact and be done with it? Thanks
