2015 Tacoma ~ Going To Look At This Truck

Going to look at this truck later today. I could do without the green toyota logo on the front though. v6 4wd, just checking to see if it's got the factory v6 tow package or not. It does have the TRD Off-Road extra value package though, and they're telling me it does have the factory tow package so maybe it will work for me.

Not sure what's up with this truck but that's rare to have a less than 2 year old truck with 22000 miles that's been heavily modified with a lift, rims, tires, offroad bumper and a camper shell top on the back for sale. Maybe a repo? Maybe it was abused? Hmm, I'm going to take a look.

Ok, had to jump to several of the vin decoder websites (most give you a little bit of information before you have to pay for their whole report) ... but I was able to get what I wanted off one of them.

grrr. Actually they're just showing generic information now that I look at it. They show the whole range of possible options so it's hard to know what the true tow rating it.

That is an awful lot of work that someone did to the truck (a lot of expense at least) only to have it for a couple of years, so yeah the possibility that it was repossessed is very real. Either that or someone's got more money than sense.

I think Ive seen that truck before.
If its the truck Im thinking of the owner was building it as an expedition style vehicle and recently bought an older model Tacoma to go as a trail runner.
Those miles were acrued from commuting, North Fort Worth/Azle to Plano/Mckinney.
The green grill badge gives it away.

Well I'm going out to take a look this afternoon as it's in Fort Worth and I've got to head that way anyhow today. Looks like it's got done to it most of what I would have done anyhow so usually that just means that it's discounted for me.

I'll take pics when I get there, but i'm not sure if that front bumper is incomplete or if it's just got some strange recovery hooks on the front. Really looks like something is supposed to go there. Seems way too wide to be for a winch hookup ???

Well, I dunno. Maybe that's just the style and those are recovery hooks because the rear bumper has them as well.
