Dash Lights Not Working

All of the idiot lights work...but the dash light itself...the lights for the instrument panel are not working. I have turned the little trim knob a thousand times. Checked the fuse at least 3 times. I'm kind of out of ideas what to do next. Any help would be appreciated.

The illuminating lights? They went out at the same time?

Headlights usually have to be turned on for dash lights to illuminate.
