Excited to be here!

First time truck buyer....moved to a new town and been looking on and off and then found this:

http://slo.craigslist.org/cto/4956181401.html

Let me know what you think. I know it's not a 4x4 but it looks nice to me. Seller is pretty firm on $4500....high per NADA but maybe worth it?

Anything I should look for on the test drive and checking it out is appreciated. The guy is supposedly inundated with calls so taking it to a mechanic first probably isn't going to happen. Checking it out at 11am tomorrow so chime in quick!

Thanks all,
Casey

Good luck on that, 1991 means that you're going to have to work on it and NADA prices aren't all that accurate once most of the vehicles of this era have been removed from the roads. Used vehicle prices have been crazy for about 3 or 4 years now.

I took the liberty of adding the pics to this thread.

I think he was getting at the fact that used cars (and especially fuel efficient smaller trucks) have not just held their value but have actually increased their value since around 2010 is amazing. I know a guy with a mid 90's truck similar to the pics shown above who thought he could only get like $1500 (because that's what he experienced before) for it when he traded it in, but instead was offered something like $3000 from a dealer, so private party who knows what he might have gotten.

In the end, take a look at it, don't make a rush decision, ask for receipts for maintenance if they're available, because the main issue when buying any used vehicle is how well was it taken care of and did they do maintenance and service on it?
