Temp Gauge on 1991 Toyota Pickup

My temperature gauge is always between the half way point and all the way to the left or, 1/4 of the way up. Is that normal or should it be at about half way up. If it's not correct, what should I take a look at? Thanks

My gauge a halfway mark when warmed up to operating temperature and it is still stinking cold here. I would not be concerned as long as heater is keeping your cab good and warm. If not change the thermostat is the cheapest and easiest place to start.
