Overdrive not working--which solenoid do I get? (85 Pickup A340)

Hey guys, I recently came back from a long drive from LA to Phoenix. I noticed on my way back that I lost overdrive, and ended up driving back in 3rd the whole time.

The pickup shifts in all the lower gears just fine, without slipping, and the tranny fluid also seems adequete. However, it just seems to refuse transitioning from 3rd to OD.

For a while, before this started, it had been slipping from OD to 3rd on the highway. Like I really had to let go of the gas to keep it in OD. Additionally, i have now notice that when I push the Overdrive button on the shifter, the light on the console does not come on to indicate that OD is off.

I have concluded that what I need to replace is the "overdrive solenoid," whatever that is after reading a few forums and threads posted here,

After checking at my local O'reilleys and looking at eBay and google shopping, I am still not sure what to purchase and from where.

Oreilly's told me to get part number 18-1722 Import Direct Ignition - Transmission Switch ($160)

But I found something similar with a different name on ebay, part Standard Motor Products TCS33 Automatic Transmission Solenoid ($140)
Link

But I also found this thing called a kickdown solenoid on eBay ($320)

And a cheaper one on Google ($240)

Which of these should I be getting? And on top of that, am I even on the right track and replacing the right thing? Under normal circumstances I would certainly purchase both, but they are both a lot more costly than I would have expected.

Sorry, just noticed that no one has responded. Did you get anywhere on this project?

Yes turns out the overdrive cable had melted and was shorting to ground on the transmission. I didn't see where the insulated had come off semi-completely. The biggest clue to the tech was that the OD light wasn't turning on.
