Tow Dolly Or Auto Transport

Oaky Toyota Truck Club, I have a topoic I would value some feedback on. The topic relates to using a tow dolly or an auto transport (trailer). In the next few days, I will be driving to California (from Alabama) to retrieve my 1982 Toyota 4x4. Using a two dolly will require disconnecting the rear drive shaft vs the convenience of simply driving the Pickup onto the trailer.
The input is appreciated.

I'll add my 2 cents again just like I did on the other thread: for that long of a trip I would feel better using the aluminum auto transport.
