Knocking In Steering Column

Just wanted to see if anyone else is having this problem with there 2015 Tacoma v6 sr5 4wd. Knocking feeling in steering column, slack in steering wheel, and a wobble in steering wheel. This started at 6000 miles and dealership told me it was a characteristic of these trucks. Any opinions on this would be helpful.

The dealer should put the truck on a hoist and have a mechanic search out the problem. Those symptoms are not something I would consider normal in anything but a fleet truck... a well worn one at that.

Truck has been back at dealership 5 times. They said everything was working the way it is suppose too. They sticking by the natural characteristic comment.

Maybe toyota should step up to the plate and advertise their Tacomas have wonky steering. How can you be comfortable driving something like that?..
ford had similar issue in early '90s and I was told it was a "steering sensor" I drove one of those fords affected for 10 miles..it was a challenge to keep it between the lines. I knew mechanic who had looked it over,,all the obvious and he could find nothing wrong but I would not buy it at any price...

Yessir! It's definitely not comfortable to drive and a continuous fight to keep it between the lines, but Toyota not going to step up and admit there's a problem until someone has an accident because of it.

I would find a new dealership. Sounds like they are not interested in fixing the problem.

It has been to another dealer. I've even had Toyota in California involved. Their all sticking to the natural characteristic of the truck comment.

Can you bring it to a DMV shop to have it inspected. That's a option we have in our neck of the woods to settle a "dispute" Usually when folks show up at govt shop here its for shoddy workmanship,,fraudulent work orders etc. It puts the shops Mechanical license on the line.

Keep at it and don't give up - one of the dealers will figure it out.

Go to another dealership to see if they can look at your problem. Keep your receipts, if they blow you off contact Toyota about it, ask if you can take it to a local front end specialists. Since the grease monkeys at Toyota don't have a clue what they're looking at.
