    Weird Engine Noise

I saw those. For sure I'll spring for them. Still not sure if it's needed yet; might just put some miles on it first and do the chain later on if it's not immediately necessary. Hope I can identify what's making this weird noise this weekend. Thanks

    Weird Engine Noise

Thanks RedDirt, yes, it is a 22re, forgot to mention that. I do have a manual from my older '88 of the same model, pretty sure it goes up to '94. Yes, I'll be doing the work myself. Love eBay. I use it a lot for getting parts for my old motorcycle. Very useful. I'll do so research on the chain...

    Weird Engine Noise

Hey everyone. This is my first real post about a question with my new-to-me Pickup. Well it runs great but there is this noise that 'seems' to be coming from the valve cover. It's a random tickity tick. Check out the video. To me it sounds like something is bouncing around in there! There's...

    Is This A Good Truck?

I'm also a part of a vintage Honda motorcycle club and they have some great resources. Shop manuals, owners manuals, exploded view microfiches of every single part with part number, etc. Is there something similar here? I was looking around and couldn't seem to find anything. I'm looking for...

    Is This A Good Truck?

Got a truck! I'm officially allowed in this forum now. '94 Pickup 22re with 98k miles. Seems to run really smoothly and shift nicely. Almost no rust, too. The seller even took me out to lunch, haha. There is a noise that the PO thought was heat shield rattling in the engine compartment but...

    Is This A Good Truck?

Thanks. Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I'm looking at two other trucks in better shape with around 100k miles. But they're each about 4 hours away. Looks like this will be a last resort. If the consensus was that it was quick, easy and cheap to replace or rebuild then maybe I'd consider it...

    Is This A Good Truck?

Hey guys and gals, I found a truck on Craigslist which says it runs well and it appears to be in good shape with very minor rust but the "rear end should be replaced". While emailing the owner they said, "we cleaned out the oil from the rear end and it was brown so it had water in it at some...

    Hi From Ct!

Ok, I take that back. But maybe I'll be saying that come late February, haha.

    Hi From Ct!

Thanks! Sometimes I wish we had your weather over here in CT, haha.

    Hi From Ct!

Yeah, they were awesome. Although there was this moment, which I failed to mention in the story, where the guy was cutting a brake line under the truck with my angle grinder and hit a fuel line. Sparks and fuel don't mix. Well...nothing happened, but there was a moment where we all almost died...

    Hi From Ct!

Thanks Dawn! Yeah, I'm looking for either a 22r or 22re 4x4 Pickup mid to late 80's or early 90's. Forgive me if there are model numbers or names like Hilux or 4 Runner that are associated with these trucks, I just don't know them yet. Pretty much the same truck that I had which you can see in...

    Hi From Ct!

I completely agree. The versatility can't be beat. And when it's engineered as well as these Toyotas are then you've got a winner. I'll definitely be posting pictures when I get them. Should be fun. Yes, since my Sonata is in the middle of crapping out (196,000 miles - not bad) I'm actively...

    Hi From Ct!

Yeah, that's pretty much it. I'm still in touch with them because I want a picture of it in Guatemala with a bunch of bananas or cocaine in it. :)

    Hi From Ct!

Thanks guys! Yeah, well when the head gasket blew I was going to fix it myself. Got the head gasket kit and a refurbished head (was cheaper than machining mine if it was warped). Got half way through and life got in the way. I was then second guessing myself trying to fix it. I have the know-how...
