91 Toyota 4WD Pickup - MPG and Blower Motor - Need Advice

Rate this Entry

Have a 91 4WD PickUp. Has anyone installed Warn type hubs to increase gas mileage?? if so how well did it work??
Also the blower motor went inoperative. I understand there is some type of diode. Where do I get one?

... that being said, I've never heard anything about changing the hub type to increase on-the-road MPG. Maybe if you're off-road a lot.

... and your local auto parts store should have your part for your 91. The dealer may or may not have something that's 20 years old, so you're better off getting aftermarket, IMHO.

Do you have auto lock hubs or full time 4wd right now? The only way you'd save anything is if the truck presntly has those two types of drive system then a set of Warn hubs would allow the front axle to freewheel.
The blower motor isnt a rebuildable item on this truck, they dont go out a lot but when they do it's time to buy a new one.
