2nd Generation Tacoma: I feel a heavy bump when I hit the breaks. I don't know if it's a problem with the breaks or too much torque. And my stick shift shakes a lot when I drive and when I release the breaks. I've been to the dealer a few times already and they say nothing's wrong with the engine, brakes, or the tranny.

I guess this happens on a lot of rigs like ours, as some of my friends experience it. But the people at the dealership do not have the slightest idea on what is going on. I still wonder why that is so.

Check the center support bearing on the drive shaft. If it's bad, that could be causing your problem.

With the bump when you hit the breaks could be anything mine does it but it didn't start until I replaced the breaks with a different brand besides toyota or it could be the front drive shaft u joint now as for the gear shift shaking mine does that as well and my carrier bearing isn't bad mine came about when I lifted 6 inches

This happened to my '97 Taco. I read a couple of times in a thread (I forgot where though). The thread reads that there is something wrong with the throttle body. The throttle body had to be taken apart and cleaned up good. I did that with my Tacoma's hot start. After the clean-up, it worked like a clock.

I did take the throttle body out and cleaned it spotless. The idle air control's a little busted though. But after that it was still bogging and dying after a few blocks.

It could be a fuel system issue. You should really check your ECU and gets your codes. And also check your coolant.

I think I need to bleed my breaks. Does anybody have instructions on how to bleed breaks? The ones with pictures would really help. Thanks!
