Anyone know what is the latest year engine/tranny I can put in my 22R,'85 pickup, 2WD.? I've heard the latest year is a '91? I'd like to upgrade to a newer engineered motor/trans that I can bolt on without any big hassles as far as mods go. Any help would be appreciated.

Can you have yours rebuilt by a mechanic. I would keep the gas because it would be to much work to change to a different gas motor. Check the internet for compatible toyota oem parts (http://www.overnightautoparts.com/toyota.html) for your car.
